Russian JS 3 - WIP

Here's a couple of pics of Trumpeters JS 3.

 

I've added a Barrel Depot, barrel and Modelfixer individual tracks but the rest is pretty much box stock.

 

It's a very cheap kit but the detail and quality of the parts is actually very good.

 

I'll add some paint soon.....

There's a JS2 in a dutch museum. The texture is really crude and so are the weld seams.

This is a monster of a tank.

Nice looking model, Joe! It's interesting how similar in shape the hull is to the T-34's. Does this have the 122mm cannon like the IS-2 (JS-2)? That is an awfully big gun, whatever the bore!

Pretty cool alright. Russian armor is very interesting, and as Jeroen said, their WWII stuff was pretty crude.

Crude, but effective Kevin! I recently finished a book on the T-34, where the Soviet tankers marvelled at the comfort of the American tanks, commonly describing them as being like hotels on the inside, but when it came to battle, they'd rather be in that crude, uncomfortable T-34. Kind of like the Shturmovik (you knew I had to bring that in somehow!).
