Shawn M
Back in Black! Now with 100% more camo! My 10mm lense does such wacky stuff with perspective!
Learstang
What, do you mean the left wing isn't three feet long? Nice looking Fortress by the way - it really looks good in that RAF night bomber scheme. One of these days I'll have to get a Fortress to go with my decals, and I'd better get that conversion set from Paragon whilst I still can. Shawn M
Looks like I added a 1/32 PT-19 wing to that side! yeah, act fast! The Paragon set is very complete, really only lacking the tail lamp. I must have had a bad pour on my nose plate though, no biggie as it was an easy fix. PE looks wonderful, lots of bits for the carpet monster. I will add them all last. Edited February 14, 2011 by Shawn M

PhilB
I really like what you are doing here Shawn! I also really like US aircraft in British schemes and vice versa. It really is a sinister looking beastie! The big stick is terrific! You gonna get those props motorised? Phil
Shawn M
You like my toilet plunger flight stick Props, what props I loved how unique this aircraft and its roll was during WW2. I agree, quite sinister, now I get to start weathering after I paint on the unit markings and nose art.
Kagemusha
Coming along nicely, fuselage looks great with the roundel and fin flash.
Shawn M
that fin flash was a PITA! As soon as I slid it on the backing it shattered into a bunch of parts..at least I got them reassembled. The color does help a lot, cant wait to paint on the nose art. Shawn M
thanks Ron, just wait till I add all the antennae and radar bits to it!
Shawn M
At first I was REALLY unhappy with my attempt at masked painted letters. But after I cleaned them up and washed them in flat black Im not so unhappy with them....still not tickled though but oh well. Painted and installed top turret: Exhaust/turbo painting: Landing Lights: I started adding antennae that I knew I wouldn't knock off: There is PE for these bits, but Guitar string is easier to work with and looks the same, 2 pieces of wire make 4 antennae! PE dorsal antenna: Edited February 21, 2011 by Shawn M
Shawn M
This "Cigar Antenna" comes with a nice PE nub to install into the fuse. I predrilled for it during assembly. I wanted a stronger hold so I CA'd a bit of guitar string to the base: Trailing antenna mast, this is also PE but I added a blob of CA for the weight on the end. PE Monica Tail antenna, I added the noses of 2 1/350 scale F4 phantoms to give it some shape. Running outta parts! The fuse thus far: Now to muster up the ba....courage...to paint the nose art.
