JRutman
Got some work done as this was a figures weekend. I trimmed some more fat off of the 2 guys and started to add some musculature and bones. Also gave the main gunner a little fring of hair, trying to make him be the "old Hare" and the loader the callow youth. Sprayed some primer on the field piece and was reminded what a little jem this kit is. Anyway, some progress.

JRutman
And here we see it all pieced together. The experienced guy is trying to hold back the loader until he gets his sights back on adjustment.Hopefully this is apparent to the viewer or I am failing one of the main points of a dioramawhich is to tell a story. JRutman
The 2nd loader with the charge and primer is coming to life. He is still in the frankenstein phase where I have just assembled the parts that are closest to the pose I want. He is also steadying the young 1st loader. JRutman
And here is how it will all fit together. There will be at least 2 more guys getting more rounds ready by unpacking the cases. We used to call this "breaking down" the ammo.
JRutman
WOIWZERS !!. Just came across this Jerry. I like it...I like it a lot. Please post more?...........Harv Thanks Bubba!Means a lot. JRutman
OH, I dont know, my friend....You have 130 views !..Sometimes I feel the same way..........Harv I see the view count but I have such low self esteem that I always think it's my girlfriend just hitting the mouse 20 times at a pop to make me feel better! But I really appreciate you looking in buddy! Ain't life grand? J
JRutman
Naw....Too many know and respect you. You don't give yourself enough credit. You are a VERY talented maker and builder. Speaking of....when will we see more of YOUR P-38 and Mustang???. Inquiring minds want to know . ..............Harv As I posted on my P-51 thread,I am working on it. The P-38 project I have been dragging my feet on in part because I started out just wanting to build a super cockpit and now that it is done it means I have to finish the exterior and that eventually will mean PAINTING!! I am terrified of the airbrush. What can I say? Airbrush-o-phobia? J
big matt
Cool stuff Jerry! Reminds me of a Shep Paine book. The second loader looks like he is about to cry though! If I can learn to use an airbrush, anyone can. It is a game changer. Great work Bubba!
JRutman
Thanks Matt,it's very kind to be compared to the immortal Mr Paine! Here are some new cast members. Breakin down ammo. This guy started out as a Tamiya Nebelwerfer loader and had to loose a lot of weight. Most figs in this scale are too well fed and as my dio takes place when the wehrmacht was on the ropes and very poorly supplied I have to trim the fat on all of them. I think it is a Warriers head
JRutman
The next guy is also from the nebelwerfer crew and had to loose mucho weight. I wish it was as easy for me to loose weight. Maybe this dremel will work on me?
JRutman
Here they are together showing the interaction.
JRutman
And how the new duo look in the whole picture. I am thinking of adding an NCO to the back of the field piece as somebody has to be in uniform to fend off the officers while the real work gets done. Tallyho
I think you've got it nailed down Jerry, I can almost hear them yelling at eachother---just can't understand a word they're saying. What kind of arty piece is that? it's different than ours I guess cause I would expect that 3rd guy to be holding a bag charge instead of a caseing. Tell us a little something about that howitzer please. BTW, any idea where I can get a 1/24 Thunderbolt? Fred
Loic
Most excellent work on those figures Jerry, they are lovely and very lifefull I think. Having been doing some myself a while back, I love to see how people work figures out and you obviously master that task. Can I please ask what tool you use to run the "fine sanding" (or should I say diet) operation? I think I understand you use a Dremell for the first run and get most plastic off but then (the Dremell sound too agressive to me for the fine work)? Thanks and keep it up! Cheers, Loic
