Thunda
Hi Folks, just coming to the end of a Hobby Boss Spit V build, and Im looking for a good colour photo of the tear-drop shaped signalling lamp just behind the radio mast. I understand it was either a white or a clear bulb, but Im interested to know what colour the reflector was. Also, the light underneath the fuselage- I believe it was amber coloured lens with a clear bulb, but I cant find a picture anywhere. Any help would be appreciated. dennismcc
I don't have a good photo of the spine signaling lamp but here is the under fuselage lamp, this is on a Mk.I but it stayed in the same position up to the Mk.VIII. Here's what Edgar had to say on the subject. Spine light was white bulb under a clear lens; underside light had an amber cover over a plain bulb. from left to right, you had red, amber, green, which matches traffic lights. On the VIII & XIV, the light was moved to halfway down the fuselage, and, on the XVIII, it was moved even further back, this possibly all done to prevent it being masked by any extra fuel tanks.
