flightline
Gentlemen The owner of the IP (intellectual property) molds and masters for the FM vac of the Boomerang is considering doing a limited-run re-release of this currently OOP kit . The purpose of this email is to ask modellers to give careful consideration consider putting forward GENUINE expressions of interest in a re-release of this sought after kit. An initial re-run of about 250 kits is being considered. An increase ( or reduction) in the initial production numbers will depend on the interest expressed. If there is a positive response from the modeling community, the next step will be an invitation to follow through with a pre-Order. Pre-Orders will, of course, take priority and to keep this as a genuine modeller to modeller project Orders will be limited to 2 kits per buyer. Production costs have not been finalized, but sales will be direct to the buyer with no middle man, It is hoped the that the revised FM kit will be very competitively priced against the Montex resin kit - The Montex kit ( if you can get it ) was selling for at least 125:00 GBP or about $Au215:00 ( About $US 170.00) We are looking at approximately half that figure for the FM re-issue In addition to the original plastic, (done and to be redone by Falcon in NZ ... to their usual high standard), rubber tyres and metal landing gear legs and tail wheel fork supplied in the original kit, the proposed re-issue would incorporate several up-grade improvements including (but not limited to) ... corrected wheel wells full improved engine (this will include the back end which is visible through the open inboard section of the wheel wells... like the FW D-9) additional internal detail/ engineering to allow the engine cooling gills to be displayed open improved propeller, hub and spinner upgraded cockpit - in-scale tubular framing, consoles, seat, stick, rudder pedals, instrument panel and dial details, accurate gun-sight etc ... optional hedgehog and tubular exhaust stacks A more detailed canopy frame is being considered together with a wider choice of decal options, including stenciling. PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY This is a proposal, not an Offer Pictures of the proposed improved parts are NOT currently available - However, e-Reviews and build logs of the original FM kit are available on-line - please check out Google if you wish to have another look at the first issue of the kit. I simply do not have time to reply to ( potentially) hundreds of questions but if a sufficient expression of interest is logged there will be an up-date post with (we hope) pictures to whet your appetites and a firmer indication of price In the meantime you may wish to compare the FM kit with Montex's offering using web based resources - Google is your friend for that. For those of you who have a deeper modelling wallet, there is, (or at least was) some talk a while back that Alley Cat might re-issuing their previous up-grade of Montex kit ( Alley Cat bought Montex's product line) but I have not found information about a firm proposal or price on-line. Alley Cat have a summary of their original re-release of the Boomerang priced at $125 GBP but that kit is not included as part of the their existing available stock. Genuine expressions of interest may be directed by PM to Piprm on this site at http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showuser=13971 You might like to check out my re-work if the 1/32 ID Canberra while you are at it at http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=59305&hl=canberra Thanks for dropping by sandokan and Nanook
LSP_Kevin
Well, I've already got the kit, but would definitely be interested in an upgrade package that included the improved parts (where practical). Kev Piprm and sandokan
Alburymodeler
I have a few Montex kits, and did have the original and then the Falcon produced kits, and could possibly be interested in one of the newer issues if t measures up. Piprm
