Guest The Southern Bandit
Forgot how good it was in fact, yup inaccurate at times, its not a documentary for detail guys like us, but its a pretty good film all the same and a different angle on the Battle of Britain. mpk and R Palimaka

R Palimaka
The exiled pilots from Czechoslovakia, and Poland, flew and fought like tigers, but they weren't able to enjoy the victory and freedom that they helped win for others. Those who chose to go back returned to a home now occupied by the Soviets and an imposed communist government. Many of them were imprisoned or executed on false charges as Western spies. The movie was clearly an homage to men that the director and producers consider heroes, lovingly done, with some spectacular flying. A fascinating story of loyalty, escape, experienced pilots learning to fight back with new rules and better aircraft...and finally, betrayal. Yes, there is a love story but get over it, there always will be. :-) Well worth seeing if you haven't yet. It's good to see the Czechoslovakian story told, and so compellingly.
