Hello my friends :)

It is time for the next project.

It will be OA-10A Catalina USAF Rescue.

The kit is Revell-Monogram 1/48 PBY-5A Catalina, the AM is resin engines from Vector and BIG-ED

At the end must be something like this:

Ha ha ha :) thanks friends.

Continue with assembling the main wing. Well as you can see it's not a 32 scale, but still it's a big piece of plastic.

And opened space for left engine - it will be uncovered and we will see the great resin R-1830 PW engine :)

Looking forward to it Chavdar!

The questions I have are:

  1. How do you intend to do the special yellow rescue markings, especially that big number underneith?
  2. Are you going to do the amount of frozen condensation (frost) on the fuselage as shown in the photo?

Seeing how clear the waist blisters are, it is obvious they really polished the glass on that bird!

Lessee, how does the routine go, "Check the tires and oil, and clean the windshield"...?

Thank you Carl :) I'm still waiting for the rest of AM ;)

Hi Gigant, well for the numbers I've got a decals from the kit and it's a brand new - from 2014 ;)

For the rest - masking, painting with yellow paint, weathering, etc.

For the second question - at first I thought like you, that this is a frozen condensation, BUT if you look very carefully the belly numbers - the big once, the right float at the wing and right engine flaps you will see the missing paint and I thing this is an ordinary chipping paint, and

the picture was taken just before re-newing and repainting the real birdy.

Never know for sure :)
