AceofClubs
Hi All. I'm very interested to built a French Navy Corsair F4-U7 during Operation Musketeer. Do you think it could be possibile with minimal intervention on Tamiya F4-U4? Any structural after market kit? Many thanks for your kind help. Ciao Filippo
Dave Williams
The latest model Tamiya kit is a F4U-1D, which is VERY different than a F4U-7. You'd need at least a new nose and wings. No one makes anything like that for the Tamiya kit. I think there may have been one for the Trumpeter F4U-4, but it's somewhat rare.

Dave Williams
Tamiya does not make a F4U-4 kit (yet). And they likely never will.

Kagemusha
There was one for the Trumpeter -4, don't think it's available now. I just edited the title for clarity.
alain11
hi for now , your only option , is the trumpy kit + Olivier Pinsoles 's conversion . with a bit of efforts , you can get something decent Alain WIP in French sorry http://fighters.forumactif.com/t68851-corsair-dash-7-trumpeter-1-32-fin-de-l-histoire final result http://fighters.forumactif.com/t69220-corsair-f4u-7-1-32 Uncarina and Zero77

rafju
or, at a different scale, you can do it by yourself, like that one http://fighters.forumactif.com/t82449-corsair-f4u-7-100-scratch-en-bois-massif-sculpte-au-1-16e Alburymodeler
Zero77
Yes there is a nice conversion from a french modeller (Olivier Pinsolle). But it's VERY confidential and you wont find it in any shop or even on Ebay. Your only chance is to ask Olivier by email if he would cast one for you. I dont know if he still do it. I am a lucky guy and have this conversion as well as the french F-7P Crusader, and i will NEVER sell them ! Kagemusha

otis252
I just wish some resin aftermarket company would do just a simple corrected cowl flaps set for the Trumpeter F4U-4. Please. Chuck

imatt88
It's a cool idea. You don't see any French Navy Corsairs or Crusaders in big scale. I would love to have both those sets
