Guest Peterpools
Kent I had to make sure I wasn't dreaming - Stunning and easily of or even beyond "museum quality" words can not even come close. And let's not get started on the paint work -OMG .... I'm taking pages of notes. Keep 'em comin Peter
kkarlsen
Last major stage of this build it's finally coming to an end... Gluing the fuselage halves together with epoxy glue, puttying + sanding. Reworking the panellines and the rivetting. 'Glass' parts, blisters, canopy and bow turret are in place. Masking tape and masking fluid, hopefully there are no leaks... Ready for the paintshop ;-) Edited January 30, 2018 by kkarlsen Trak-Tor, ShelbyGT500, Jan_G and 13 others

kkarlsen
Thanks Guy's - Work continues with the paintjob... Starting off with Mr. Surfacer white primer/base coat + preshading, with grey Mr. Surfacer... Bottom... Some of the preshading is very light, I'm afraid not to be able to cover it with the white paint... A single thin pass of white and then water and salt is applied Before painting, everything is dried with a hairdryer. Working in layers, different shades of white darkened with earth or dark grey + more salt... Salt removed from bottom... It's not easy to see in the photo, but it is a very nice subtle weathering and it's still a white aircraft. Next I will be sanding the surface to get it smooth and applying some Pledge/Future before continuing with oils and dark wash. To be continued...
