One for Chris

Coolie

Recommended Posts

Thanks for that Coolie, it was most enjoyable. The most startling thing for me was the marked size contrast between the two fighters...the smallest and largest I suspect (from a pilot's perspective, you could probably see a Jug from miles away, whilst picking out the 109 would have been quite a difficult task).

Thanks

Derek

What a great day that was!

I was there both days and I can say that it was very very clear that the 109 was a 1939 vintage design being chased by a 1943 monster.

Both in the dives and recoverys the Thunderbolt looked as if it was cruising way below its abilities while the 109 sounded as if it was to the firewall trying to set that pace.
