Progress on my latest 190

Just a quick picture to show the progress of my 190F-9. I'm using the MDC A-8 cockpit with the EagleParts 190F-9 Conversion and the EagleParts 190 wooden paddle bladed props. Neither of which can be seen in the picture as they've not been added yet.

This is my interpretation of an extremely late war 190F-9. Notice how it's been "greened up" to blend in with the surrounding terrain when it's not flying. I've given the aircraft a patchwork appearance as if it were built from several different subassemblies with rebuilt parts still in the older colors. Replacement parts are painted in 02 but none were left in natural metal. No reason in particular, I just didn't get the NMF out this time.

More pics when she's done. Kinda reminds me of the JG54 Bf109F with the weird camoflauge.

Oh, I plan to spray a little green on the insignia as well. That'll be done after the decals are added but before the final flat coat is put on. We'll see what she looks like then.

My inspiration is Yellow 10, the 190D13 that had all the bizzare wing and fuselage colors on it at the time of its capture.

Wish me luck, I'm goin in!

;) More photos please Sir!

Great idea on the subassemblies being slightly different. ;) Very creative and makes perfect sense. I love the colour and I think the shape and camo of the Luftwaffle birds attracts me to them. :D

Any photos of the aftermarket goodies, even prior to painting? I've got a photo of the real wooden prop unpainted and its a veritable work of art...too bloody good to stick on a plane. The wood grain is glorious.

Cheers Tim...looking good

Thanx Matt, I'll be posting some more in the near future. Sorry, I don't have any photos of the conversions and prop before painting but if you go to the Eagle Editions website, they have good photos Here's the links:

Eagle Editions Wooden Prop and:

Eagle Editions Fw190A-9 Conversion

As you can see, they're really not all that intense. They're what I call, "bolt-on" conversions, or glue-on if you will.

As I've found out before, the only way to tell and Fw190A/F-9 from an A/F-8 is to look at the ducted fan. The A/F-9 will have 14 blades vs. the 12 blades for the A/F-8. The propellor is NOT any indication as to which model it is.

Just a little FYI I picked up in my travels. I think I may have gotten it here as a matter of fact from Jerry Crandall in answer to one of my posts awhile back.

Regards,

TimC. ;)
