Well, I think that the photos in this thread are forever going to put an end to the "what would YOU put in your dream workshop" questions-- this looks like the most incredibly well stocked, well laid out and pristine model room I've ever even heard of! Great progress, you're really tackling this methodically and carefully!

Cheers

Mike

hello all,

@ dodgem37 : the bins with rolls are all scale plans of ships.

from left to right British ships , center : german , Italian , Japanese ships , US ships . in each roll is a plan.

the frame is roughly cut out from 1,5 mm thick styrene , and sanded in shape.

you can also see on top off these bins left to right mould DE under sheet of styrene , part of center form DE on top off a new mould I am building , at right aft section DE.

Rammstein,

Thank you for the explanations. I am amazed with and love what you are doing. Will you be scratchbuilding and casting deck stuff? Or are there aftermarket companies you will be using?

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Mark

hello all,

dodgem37 , I shall see what is available for deck fittings , but I think I have to make lots of stuff myself.

At this moment I am working on the center section of my ship , which is almost complete , I shall post some photo's tomorrow.

Holy cow, a 1/35 scale destroyer...Wow. That thing is huge. I have a hard time tackling small scratch build project for my 1/32 kits and your doing this beast...  BTW, I see that you have a scale drawing to build a 1/96 USS Essex CV-9 Carrier :o I bet you will need a full room just to house such model. Anyway, awesome work my friend. Keep up the good work.

hello all,

thanks for the kind replies.

@ Youngtiger1 : if you look at the last photo of page one you will see that space is not the problem , the boat in center is 3 meters long the whole complex is 20 meters x 8 meters. I can place an Essex Class carrier in scale 1/32 in this room.

some more photo's.

the front section nearing completion.

IMG_2222.jpg

front section complete , ready to get fixed on the other 2 sections.

Rammstein, this is modelling on such a grand scale that I can hardly take it in. Your work is amazing; you obviously have a great talent for engineering, as well as modelling.

This mind boggling cool! Great work and very precise. Shows what can be done with the much maligned vac-u-form process.

These two post cover my thoughts exactly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome Project.
