Well seeing that Erwin can post l will too. My Project for this GB will be a jet and a WW2 one a that.

l always wanted to do this beast as l think it fasanating. If this bird had gotten to actual production it could have gave the americans serious problems.

This will be a totally scratch build project, So at the moment l am waiting for some more stuff to come before l start. There will be no guns as it was just an unarmed prototype but there will be an exposed engine. Also there were a few parts common with the Zero as Nakajima was also producing it under contract.

Not really, the Kikka was inspired by the Me 262, but it was a pure japanese design, smaller and more conventional in its layout than the 262.

The main landing gear was from the A6M, that one should be easy to do ;)

Yes KOTR is right. Alot of people make this mistake. Yes the Japanese where going to make a copy of the Me 262 but the plans never got there. The Kikka was a navy venture where as the Nakijami Ki- 201 Karyu was a airforce venture. which look like the Me 262 but was larger in size.

Well l have not been idle here on this project. Its been mostly gathering of parts and trying to figure out things. l started with the Ne 20 jet engine as l want to expose one engine. Thanks to Larry l got two Jumo engines from a Revell Me 262. After some mesuring and calulating here is what l came up with.

The Ne 20 jet engine was inspired by the Jumo engine. After some measuring and comparing data l had it seems that both engines share the same diameter but that not length. The Ne-20 was much shorter and other then being of the same type of engine was completely different. First off l had to shorten the Revell engine quite a bit on both the front and back ends

l been trying to detail the exhaust and the intake. here what l have so far and l apologize for the quality the camera wont pick up the details clearly. The fisrt is the tail cone. l had to shorten the one part that sticks out from the exhaust and detail fan blades with plastic strips. The intake is not done yet as l am trying to figure out how to make the fan blades . Chris Novak provided me with a couple of ideas but l yet to find something l am satified with. The orginal part had 8 supports in front where as the Ne 20 only had 4 so l had to modify that also

l have been checking the engine against the drawing to make sure l am not getting too long and to make sure it fits within the nacelle itself. So far so good. Well this is all so far. Still waiting for more stuff to come through the mail and l can continue. At the moment the engine is what l am concentrating on.

Looks great Dave. Really looking forward to seeing how it all comes together.

Cheers Matty

Hopefully the stuff l need will come soon and l can get started on the aircraft itself. l solved part of the trubine problem in the front. l remembered that l got an old 1/48 monogram Fw-190A and used the wings on my Ta-152 build and low and behold here was the fan the went in front of the engine and guess what it works for the front turbine just need to dress it up a bit. Now the question is can l get one more for the front of the other engine? ( that will have the necell closed)
