KitmodellerNZ
Been working on this one for the past couple of weeks. Last night I finished the cockpit. I used the Eduard cockpit etch set, although not all of it. It was a little fiddly and I'm glad I bought a magnifying visor before I attempted adding the minute levers. I painted it with Tamiya acrylics, added an AK Interactive dark brown wash, dry brushed with oils and enamels and dirtied it up further with an AK Interactive Kursk wash. Here are a few photos I took before closing it up and the end result. Prepped and primed the engine parts last night. Such a pity most of it won't be seen once it goes into the cowling. A very nice rendition of an engine by Hasegawa. mpk, Girlscanplay2 and Mal_Belford

KitmodellerNZ
Started weathering the engine last night. Applied AK Interactive's Kursk wash to the cylinder banks and once dry, rubbed off excess with cotton buds. Before and after Used AK Interactive's Medium Rust, Light Rust and Track Rust on the exhausts. Finished these by flicking Track Wash off a paint brush to help bring it all together. Happy with the results as I am going to be doing a heavily weathered/disused bird. Girlscanplay2 and Mal_Belford
Juggernut
Ahh, small point here but the intake pipes in your photo (the ones with the sprue stuck to them with some sticky stuff) shouldn't be rust colored, they should be black if memory serves. Just sayin.... FWIW. Nice build by the way; I'm watching it go together so keep the pix coming
KitmodellerNZ
Thanks for that info Juggernut. I've been struggling to find decent reference material for this aircraft.
KitmodellerNZ
Finished off the powerplant last night. Left the intake pipes looking rusty as they won't be seen. Girlscanplay2 and Mal_Belford
