Just as the title reads, has anyone ever purchased anything from them
I'm thinking about getting the f4u-1d and it seems they have a real good price on it. I've never bought from them before

Good ??
Bad ??

Please comment on your experience with them

I have ordered a few times. Only once went sour because they went out of stock on some sale items and still could not get more after six months.

Working on: AIR - Revell Spitfire Mk IIa   LAND - Bandai 1/30 Hummel, Zvezda Mercedes L4500A, Dragon Kubelwagen Ambulance

All good, provided you only order in stock items.

They replenish stock regularly. Once a year.

Closed Account. Not Accepting PM's Or E-Mails.

I've bought many things from Lucky Model. As others have pointed out, it's always good to check the stock status of items before you order. Some items can take a long time to come back into stock. I think I waited 4 months for the ZM Do-335 but at the price I got it for, it was worth the wait.

They have also been known to get "creative" with customs declarations if that's a concern.

I've bought from Lucky in the past, no problems...as others have stated, make sure that you are viewing the 'In Stock" status, otherwise you might be in for a wait...ask me how I know, lesson learned.

Many times. I actually ordered a few things (5 or so) from Hannants, and a few days later placed an order for a similar amount of stuff from Lucky........
The accessories I ordered from Lucky arrived in about a week and a couple days. Almost a full week ahead of the Hannants sjippment.
Nothing but fast, fair prices shipping

I have never personally bought from them, but know the company well, and have read comments at many, many modeling forums where someone just casually mentions they have an order placed at Lucky Model, or just got a shipment from them, or whatever.

I.E., they seem incredibly popular and widely used as far as I can tell.

I'm mostly a Hannants customer because they reliably stock most of that awesome stuff from all those cool little Eastern European Cottage Companies.
Unless they're big like Eduard or HGW, it's hard to find a reliable supplier in the USA for the cool little AM goodies coming out of Eastern Europe and Russia. Even mainstream companies like Zvezda can be hard to reliably find here.

I rarely read people had problems with them but my experience is VERY negative.  The first time I ordered was a nightmare: I never got my order, communication was very bad and the payment was never refunded. Useless to say that in spite of their attractive prices, I never tried a second time...

I had no problem with the others such as Hobbyeasy.

I do not like webshops that play with the meaning of the term "available". When I'm ordering something, I'd like knowing if it is in the reseller stock or not. If they can order it from the producer I like knowing it as well as well as their policy if the producer finally do not deliver. Unfortunately, at least when I ordered, "available" did not mean "in stock" for Lucky! Hopefully, this is an issue that is disappearing as most good resellers (such as SprueBrothers or Hannants) clearly indicate what they have in their own stock and do not play excessively with the backorder process...
