dora9
I bought some time ago, the MXY-7 Ohka from Radu Brinzan and what a nice kit it is! It's the jet version of the Ohka. So after a good long look at what's in the box, I took the plunge! Started with the cockpit floor, lot of tiny little pieces! Just for the rudder bar, there's 9 pieces, the base is composed of 7 photoech parts. Then the pulleys for the rudder cables, another 6 photoetch parts! Cables are made out of streched sprue. And then some tubings and a big valve plus the throttle. So that's it for now stay tuned! Iain, dutik, Jim Barry and 1 other

dora9
It is a small, (can I call it aircraft?) flying object. It's about the size of a Phantom wing tank! It will be a nice model in my showcase when finished.

dora9
Thanks guys! Now a little bit of color. I based my painting on the one in the NASM collection. I was surprise to find a really dark color for the cockpit! I used some White Ensign paint in their U.S. Navy WWII range, #3 green wich is quite close acording to the pictures in Monogram Japanese Aircraft Interior by R.Mikesh. Tubes are painted acordingly. Air intakes with baffles installed, exhaust pipe painted and installed. Propulsion was about the same as the Caproni Campini, an inverted 4 cyl engine driving a ducted fan, fuel was injected aft of the fan and burned like an after burner. So hope you like what you see. So far it is an enjoyable build, I'm having a blast with that little kit! 109 and Troy Molitor

dora9
Never knew that this kind of engine ever made it into an operational aircraft... Regards - dutik Well, only one flew and it crashed on the first flight! They where supposed to be transported by P1Y1 Ginga (Frances). dutik
dora9
The only problem so far, if I can call it a problem, is the fit of the intakes. Like they are a bit under size, but nothing that bits of plastic strips can't fix! So next step, fitting of the intakes, gluing the two halves together and it will be almost ready for painting! Cheers! Edited April 26, 2017 by dora9

dora9
Thanks Ollie! Bedfordshire? I was in Bedford 2 years ago, nice little town and great sandwich at the Piazza! You should fish that one from your stash! It's a great little kit, the only assle are the seat belts but once finished, they are really amazing! Cheers! dora9
Seat belts are done! A bit of a pain in your lower anatomy but really worth it! Getting real close to assemble the fuse! Stay tuned!
